Offers

How to make an offer, how to accept, decline or counter one, and how long each step lasts. This guide covers both buyers and sellers.

How Offers Work

Any listing with Accepts Offers turned on shows a Make An Offer button. An offer is a back-and-forth negotiation between the buyer and the seller:

  1. The buyer sends an offer, with an optional message.
  2. The seller accepts, declines, or counters with their own price.
  3. After a counter, it's the buyer's turn to accept, decline or counter back. Turns alternate until someone accepts or declines, with no limit on rounds.
  4. Once an offer is accepted, the buyer has 48 hours to buy at that price.

Every offer you've sent or received is listed under Offers in your account menu, along with whose turn it is and the current price.

Making An Offer

  1. Open the listing and press Make An Offer.
  2. Enter your Offer Price.
  3. Add a Message To Seller if you'd like. It starts a conversation with the seller.
  4. Press Submit Offer.

A few rules:

  • One offer at a time. You can't send another offer on the same gear while yours is waiting for a response or has been accepted.
  • Minimum offers. If the seller set a minimum, an offer below it is stopped and you're told the minimum.
  • Vault pieces don't take offers. Like the piece instead and you'll be notified if it ever goes up for sale or starts taking offers.
  • You can't make an offer on your own listing, or between members who have blocked each other.

Responding To An Offer

When an offer comes in, you get an email and a push notification. Open Offers from your account menu, or the listing itself, and choose:

  • Accept: the buyer gets 48 hours to buy at that price.
  • Decline: the offer is closed. The buyer can send a new one.
  • Counter: enter a Counter-Offer Price and an optional message, then press Submit Counter-Offer.

Counter-offers still have to meet the seller's minimum offer amount, if there is one.

Deadlines

  • 48 hours to respond. An offer expires 48 hours after it's sent, and every counter resets the clock to a fresh 48 hours.
  • Reminders. Whoever needs to respond gets a reminder 24 hours and 1 hour before the deadline.
  • 48 hours to buy. Once an offer is accepted, the buyer has 48 hours to complete the purchase. If they don't, the offer expires and the gear goes back to its listed price.

Buying After An Offer Is Accepted

  1. Open Offers and find the accepted offer, marked Seller accepted your offer with an Expires in countdown.
  2. Press Buy Now.
  3. Check out as usual. The accepted price is applied automatically, with no code needed.

Accepted offers are binding on both sides. Buyers who repeatedly leave accepted offers unpurchased may lose access to offers.

Setting Up Offers As A Seller

  1. When you list or edit gear, turn on Accepts Offers. It's on by default.
  2. Optionally, set a Minimum Offer Amount. It has to be less than your price. Buyers can't send an offer or counter below it, so you don't spend time on prices you've already ruled out.
  3. Save the listing.

You can also turn off For Sale and leave Accepts Offers on, so buyers can only reach you with an offer.

Only accept a price you're happy to ship at. Once you accept, the buyer can check out at that price at any point in the next 48 hours.

If a member keeps sending offers you've already ruled out, you can block them. Any open offer between you closes when you do.
